The cottages are located in Dénia/Javea on the Costa Blanca (La Sella, Pedreguer) located between Valencia and Alicante which is one of the nicest and warmest climatic regions of Spain. Valencia or Alicante airports are less than one hour by car. The pleasant resorts of Dénia and Javea, with many restaurants, bars, terraces (weekly) markets, shopping areas, etc. are within 5 minutes by car.

Right next to La Sella is a large shopping mall La Marina with a wide range of luxury shops, restaurants, cinemas and a very large supermarket (Eroski).  Other popular resorts in the immediate area are Moraira, Calpe, Altea and the famous Benidorm.


Costa Blanca

The “white coast” owes its name to the white sandy beaches, interspersed with towering sea cliffs, making the Costa Blanca wholly beautiful.  There are Kaart Costa Blancafashionable resorts, sheltered coves and the many hours of sunshine mean pleasant temperatures where even in winter it rarely falls below 16°C.

The region is a great holiday destination throughout the year. Wooded hills, vineyards, olive trees, almond gardens and extensive fruit orchards provide a unique landscape.  In particular, the area between Alicante and Valencia is adorned with orchards, where “our” oranges ripen in the warm Spanish sunshine.  The valleys, with their terraced landscape and countless palm trees, preserve the memory of a Moorish past which is still alive.  Both the coast and the interior is very attractive for sightseeing. The train between Dénia and Alicante for example runs along the various coastal towns and the journey offers beautiful views of the hilly countryside and the sea.  Popular tourist areas such as Dénia, Javea, Moraira, Calpe Altea and Benidorm are just a short distance away.  Within half an hour by car along the coast there are many theme parks such as Aqualandia, Mundomar, Terra Mitica and many beautiful golf courses.  Away from the coast you should definitely pay a visit to the caves of Canalobre and the pretty mountain village of Guadalest, idyllically situated on a large, deep blue lake.

For water sports enthusiasts there are large marinas where boats and surfboards can be rented. In several places are diving schools which offer both courses and one-day diving instruction. For those who prefer to remain “dry” whilst taking a close look at underwater life there are several possibilities including with a “glass bottom boat”.  The typical Spanish cuisine is in ample supply on the Costa Blanca.  The countless (fish) restaurants in the harbors offer you the most delicious local specialties. You can feast on tapas (snacks / appetizers), Gambas à L’Ajillo (large shrimp in garlic), fresh sardines, Calamari’s Fritos (fried squid rings) or olives and of course we must not forget the paella.


Denia: the city, the port and the beach

Dénia, also known as Sado Marque de Dénia, is a city with an area of ​​approximately 60km2 and has about 45,000 inhabitants.  It lies in the north of the province of Alicante, almost on the border with the province of Valencia, on the east coast of Spain. This area enjoys a pleasant and stable climate with many hours of sunshine and mild temperatures.  The average annual temperature is around 20 degrees.  The summer is very warm and the winter nights a little cooler making it ideal for many activities during your vacation including golf, hiking and other outdoor sports.

Dénia is located in an important position between the mountains and the sea and has a past history of fishing.  In addition, there are beautiful nature reserves in the area including Monte Montgo or the Reserve Marina del Cabo de San Antonio.  The old town center is a typical Mediterranean village and it is surrounded by endless beaches with a total of 20km of fine golden sand.  In short, Dénia is a fantastic place to spend your holidays! Enjoy the beautiful beaches with many water activities.  The beautiful sandy beaches of Las Marinas Dénia and El Arenal in Javea are just 5 minutes away. Both Denia and Javea feature a  luxury marina from where sailing or motor yachts can be rented and various water sports can be practiced.  From the port of Dénia a daily (fast) boat brings you to Ibiza within 2 hours.



Dénia is reachable by car however the distance is quite considerable, about 1950 km from Utrecht.  Flying to Alicante or Valencia is simple, fast and relatively inexpensive.  There are a wide choice of airlines. Cheap flights can be found on Car hire is available from both airports where in addition to the well-known providers such as Europcar and Hertz there are also plenty of local, often cheaper, providers such as; Goldcar, Sunny Cars, Auto Europe, or Rent a Car Dénia.



The subtropical climate on the Costa Blanca is stated as one of the healthiest in the world by the World Health Organization.  Like the rest of the Costa Blanca, Dénia is blessed with over 300 days of sun per year and in the summer months a nice breeze means it’s warm but not too hot.



A paradise for the golf enthusiast!  Immediately adjacent the 27 hole La Sella championship golf course, designed by the famous golfer Maria Olazabal, is a varied and inviting challenge. It is surrounded by mountains and plenty of olive, orange, almond and pine trees line the fairways.

The greatest challenge for the player is to avoid the numerous water obstacles scattered across the course such as the river over which many of the holes cross.  La Sella has a very nice clubhouse including a pleasant sun terrace with views of a number of holes and tapas!  In addition to La Sella there are additionally many other beautiful golf courses in the immediate area.

Tennis Players can participate in the program of the club at La Sella. They can also rent a tennis court itself. There are eight tennis courts: 5 gravel and three artificial grass courts.

Horseback riding

Horseback riding can be found on the La Sella Equestrian Center.  There are a variety of activities for both the novice and the experienced rider.  You can take individual horse riding lessons or join a trail ride through the beautiful Spanish setting.
